Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, part of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Prod Planning and Scheduler to coordinate planning/production control for the Virginia Class Submarine program. The position requires a Bachelor's with 10 years (or a Master’s with 8 years) of exempt experience, with Navy/shipbuilding background highly valued. On-site, some travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate; NNPS graduate; 2-year program with 2 years exempt or 4 years non-exempt experience.
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning/production control for Newport News shipbuilding onsite X83 offices; support VCS program.
• Plan, issue and control production schedules; coordinate with material requirements for timely deliveries.
• Advise management on design changes, material availability and production issues to ensure resources meet requirements.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, material, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and other functions.

Education

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
