Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (HII) invites applications for a Planning and Production Control role at the Newport News Shipbuilding division, with onsite work in Groton and New London, CT, supporting the Virginia Class Submarine program.

The candidate will plan, prepare and control production schedules, coordinate material requirements, and work with multiple departments to ensure on-time deliveries while advising management on design changes and production risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience
• One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
• The candidates for this position should possess an experienced thorough knowledge of Shipbuilding operations, production processes, shop processes, ship systems, network scheduling principles, and planning methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control production schedules to meet shipbuilding requirements.
• Prepare work orders and purchase requests for materials.
• Advise management on design changes and material availability.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activities with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering.
• Support CLB or VSC module deliveries and material transfers.
• Ensure timely ship completion and production readiness.
