Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Production Operations Manager to drive cost controls and ensure compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA regulations while leading shift operations. The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping and collaboration with department heads to meet production, safety, and quality goals.

You will supervise production supervisors, manage manpower needs, and uphold safety and sanitation standards, with responsibilities across housekeeping and food safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a related industry with poultry supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; interacts with team and government officials.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
• Experience supervising subordinates, hiring, training, and performance feedback.
• Occasional 0–20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Control expenses and ensure compliance with federal meat inspection, OSHA, and company policies.
• Maintain the non-union program and assess manpower needs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Solve problems effectively and follow up on actions.
• Collaborate with department heads to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
• Oversee housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety standards.
• Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.
• Lead designated shift operations and handle other responsibilities assigned by the plant manager.
