Job summary

Referment is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to join a cross-platform infrastructure team in New York. You will own production networks, diagnose high-impact issues, and drive improvements across Linux, Windows, networks and storage.

The role emphasizes on-call readiness, automation using Python, and safe change practices, with opportunities to shape observability, tooling and incident response for a complex production environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on experience operating and engineering production networks at scale, including on-call responsibility.
• Strong fundamentals across UDP, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF, with working knowledge of PIM and IGMP multicast technologies.
• Experience writing and maintaining automation, ideally using Python.
• Hands-on knowledge of firewall and security platforms.
• Experience with network observability, metrics, monitoring and diagnostic tooling.
• Understanding of declarative configuration management.
• A technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and engineer production network infrastructure with a focus on stability, reliability and safe change.
• Diagnose unfamiliar, high-impact technical problems under pressure.
• Administer network, monitoring and security platforms across a cross-platform environment.
• Develop automation that removes manual work, improves efficiency and manages configuration as code.
• Make network health measurable through effective metrics, monitoring, diagnostics and tracing.
• Contribute to broader infrastructure engineering projects.
