Job summary

Our Client is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to maintain and enhance a large-scale network infrastructure. The role focuses on stability, performance, and proactive health monitoring across diverse platforms.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in CS/Engineering and at least five years of hands-on experience with production networks, scripting (Python), and firewall management (Palo Alto). This position emphasizes on-call duties and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of experience operating and engineering large-scale production networks.
• Experience scripting and automating network tasks, preferably with Python.
• Proficiency with core networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, multicast).
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Experience with firewall management (Palo Alto) and security platforms.
• Experience with network observability tools for metrics and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of declarative configuration management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, troubleshoot, and optimise the reliability of the organisation's network infrastructure through hands-on engineering and operational support
• Resolve complex network and security issues promptly across diverse platforms

• Implement and refine monitoring systems to enable proactive management of network health
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement and participate in both project delivery and on-call support
• A degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
• At least five years' practical experience in operating and engineering large-scale production networks, including on-call responsibilities
• Strong operational insight with a proven track record of maintaining network stability under pressure
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly with Python, to streamline network operations
• Well-versed in core networking protocols including UDP, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and multicast, with hands-on experience in Linux and/or Windows environments
• Experience with firewall management and security platforms such as Palo Alto
• Familiarity with network observability tools for metrics, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of declarative configuration management systems
• Experience with high-performance data networks and storage systems
