Job summary

Referment is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to join a cross-platform team responsible for the reliability of a complex production environment spanning Linux, Windows, business applications, high-performance networks and storage infrastructure.

This role blends operational ownership with engineering projects—resolving incidents, improving observability, and automating repetitive work to change things safely.

Qualifications

• Five+ years operating and engineering production networks at scale, with on-call responsibility.
• Strong fundamentals across UDP, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF, with PIM/IGMP knowledge.
• Experience writing/maintaining automation, preferably in Python.
• Hands-on knowledge of firewall and security platforms.
• Experience with network observability, metrics and diagnostic tooling.
• Understanding of declarative configuration management and a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.

You will join a cross-platform systems team responsible for the reliability and continuing improvement of a complex production environment spanning Linux and Windows systems, business applications, high-performance networks and storage infrastructure. The remit combines operational ownership with engineering projects: resolving difficult incidents, improving observability, automating repetitive work and making changes safely.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of hands-on experience operating and engineering production networks at scale, including on-call responsibility.
• Strong fundamentals across UDP, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF, with working knowledge of PIM and IGMP multicast technologies.
• Experience writing and maintaining automation, ideally using Python.
• Hands-on knowledge of firewall and security platforms.
• Experience with network observability, metrics, monitoring and diagnostic tooling.
• Understanding of declarative configuration management.
• A technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

This could suit a senior network engineer, network automation engineer, network-focused site reliability engineer, or infrastructure engineer who has owned large production networks.
