Job summary

Axcelis Technologies, Inc. in Beverly, MA is seeking a Senior Product Safety and Compliance Engineer to lead safety assessments, manage certifications, and drive regulatory compliance across the full product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with design, engineering, manufacturing, QA and legal teams to implement safety requirements, perform hazard analyses and risk mitigations, prepare regulatory documentation, and communicate status to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in product safety engineering or compliance in a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of SEMI, NFPA, IEC, UL, CE, ISO, RoHS and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety evaluations to ensure product compliance with applicable standards (SEMI, IEC, UL, CE, ISO).
• Manage safety certifications and liaise with third‑party labs and certification bodies.
• Conduct hazard/risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans (FMEA).
• Develop test protocols and oversee validation to meet safety requirements.
• Provide guidance to engineering teams and coordinate with product management, manufacturing, quality and legal.
