Job summary

Axcelis Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior EHS Engineer to lead advanced risk management across manufacturing, engineering, and field service.

You will identify hazards, assess risks, and implement controls throughout equipment lifecycles, partnering with senior leaders to elevate safety from compliance to proactive risk management. The role requires 7+ years in EHS, a technical engineering background, and expertise in LOTO, electrical safety, and machine guarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial equipment, semiconductor, automation, machinery, or similar environments.
• Experience conducting formal risk assessments and hazard analyses.
• Experience supporting machinery, manufacturing operations, technical service, or engineering functions.
• Experience with safety program development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of enterprise risk assessment programs.
• Conduct risk assessments across manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and field service.
• Develop standardized risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Review and analyze manufacturing instructions, maintenance procedures, installation procedures, and service documentation.
• Identify hazards and required controls; integrate findings into operating procedures and work instructions.
• Provide technical leadership for LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, and other safety programs.
• Support integration of risk information into operational systems and platforms.
