Job summary

Schwab Retirement Technologies seeks a Senior Product Owner with deep retirement recordkeeping experience to shape and deliver digital experiences for participants, sponsors, and advisors.

You will partner with engineering, UX, architecture, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into prioritized user stories and acceptance criteria. This role emphasizes domain mastery, backlog leadership, and end-to-end delivery across web and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Product Owner, Product Management, Business Analysis, or related Agile delivery experience with retirement recordkeeping.
• Proven experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs in Agile environments with retirement dependencies.
• Strong user story writing, requirements gathering, and backlog refinement skills translating retirement plan rules into testable requirements.
• Experience delivering participant-facing retirement web or mobile applications and understanding how recordkeeping data and plan configuration shape the digital experience.
• Ability to balance strategic roadmap planning with day-to-day execution responsibilities.
• Experience partnering with software engineers, architects, UX professionals, and QA teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
• Experience in cross-functional environments with customer focus is critical to success.
• Strong working knowledge of defined contribution plan administration and core recordkeeping functions.

Responsibilities

• Own, prioritize, and maintain the Agile backlog for retirement participant digital experiences.
• Translate retirement plan provisions and rules into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineers, architects, UX designers, and Scrum Masters to deliver web and mobile experiences.
• Lead participant web experience management and mobile app enhancements.
• Apply retirement recordkeeping domain knowledge during discovery to identify pain points and improvements.
• Collaborate with clients, participants, operations, compliance, and vendors to validate requirements.
• Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies to ensure predictable delivery.
• Monitor product performance and identify enhancements to improve the participant experience.
