Job summary

Gravity IT Resources in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Product Owner III to define, deliver, and manage products that support Transmission and Distribution Planning. You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across utility planning functions and lead product teams to drive funding management and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Local to a Duke territory for potential future conversion.
• Strong understanding of Transmission and Distribution operations, planning processes, or related technology products.
• Experience supporting Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, grid modernization, or related utility product capabilities.
• Experience as a Senior Product Analyst.
• Agile Product Owner certification.
• Black Belt Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with Jira.
• Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience shipping software.
• Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team.
• Passion for technology products and ability to identify possibilities to innovate.
• Ability to develop domain expertise in Transmission and Distribution Planning and translate business needs into clear priorities, user stories, and roadmap decisions.
• Self-directed and proactive with problem-solving focus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across levels of management.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and agile environments with bi-weekly releases.
• Experience with new product or technology development in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating in KPI-driven environments with accountability to meet goals.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage product roadmap.
• Build, groom, and prioritize the product backlog, managing expectations with stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer, worker, and user needs.
• Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and industry research to support future development.
• Write detailed functional specifications, user stories, and product documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers, and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features.
• Work with the organization on vision, strategy, decision-making, and measurement systems.
• Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders.
