Job summary

GridUnity is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the portfolio of technology products. You will translate strategy into a prioritized roadmap, engage with customers to validate needs, and work with design, sales, and engineering to deliver customer-focused software.

You’ll guide backlog grooming, write clear user stories, and balance debt with new features while driving data-driven investment decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in B2B SaaS software organizations with a Product Owner background.
• Energy/utility industry experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and business audiences.
• Experience communicating with executive-level stakeholders and identifying risk and opportunities.
• In-depth understanding of Agile software development methodology.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
• Able to adapt to changing internal and external priorities.

Responsibilities

• Translate company/product strategy into a prioritized, outcome-based roadmap.
• Engage with customers to validate needs and validate backlog reflects problems.
• Evaluate enhancements and drive build/buy/partner decisions.
• Groom product backlog with other Product Owners and maintain clear next work items.
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases for implementation.
• Balance technical debt, new features, and bugs in a single queue.
• Lead solutioning with cross-functional teams to deliver customer needs.
• Act as decision-maker for scope, sequencing, and acceptance.
• Unblock engineering when requirements are ambiguous or priorities shift mid-sprint.
• Own release readiness and ensure features meet defined needs.
