Tailscale is hiring a Principal Product Manager for the Dataplane to lead the roadmap and strategy of a distributed networking infrastructure platform. You will drive the dataplane roadmap, capacity planning, and application-layer connectivity for millions of devices, while collaborating with software engineers and IT admins.

The role demands deep L4 networking fluency, experience with production-grade performance commitments, and the ability to publish technical content publicly.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in networking, transport, or infrastructure products.
• Deep technical fluency in L4 routing, NAT traversal, and packet loss.
• Experience defining performance commitments and SLOs for production systems.
• Background in building tools for network engineers and IT admins.

Responsibilities

• Own dataplane roadmap including WireGuard, DERP, and subnet routers.
• Shape connectivity product strategy and capacity planning for global scale.
• Oversee application-layer connectivity including App Connectors, DNS, and segmentation.
• Lead operator control surfaces via Admin console and CLI.
