Job summary

Shift5 is building the observability platform for onboard OT, delivering cybersecurity, predictive maintenance, and compliance capabilities for defense and commercial fleets.

The Senior Product Manager will define what Shift5 builds, own product strategy for data pipelines, APIs, and SDKs, and partner with engineers, field teams, and customers to drive adoption and measurable outcomes. Occasional travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of product management experience building technical products for engineer users.
• 3+ years of data integration engineering experience using a major programming language (Python, Go, Rust, Java).
• Proven experience building data integration products from scratch, including requirements gathering and design.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, API design, and writing clear technical documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with an outcome-focused mindset.
• Ability to work at our Rosslyn, Virginia HQ at least 3 days per week, with travel to customer sites 3–4 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Define product strategy, roadmaps, and timelines for data pipelines, APIs, and SDKs.
• Own the on-time, on-budget shipping of product value and collaborate with engineers to execute solutions.
• Synthesize signals from forward-deployed teams to guide product direction and improvements.
• Interface with Field Engineers and third-party developers to iterate on designs and provide integration support.
• Build and present product demos to stakeholders to show value delivery and outcomes.
• Write and maintain comprehensive product documentation informed by hands-on use of the product portfolio.
