Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Senior Product Engineer to join the Air-Cooled Centrifugal Chillers team at the Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. This on-site role drives product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency across a global network.

You will own quality improvements, DFMEA updates, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives, partnering with procurement and supply chain while supporting PPAP and field actions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 7 years of experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing engineering for complex mechanical equipment.
• Understanding of mechanical and thermodynamic principles.
• Familiarity with SAP and quality problem solving tools (8D, A3, DFMEA).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface between design engineering and global manufacturing facilities, ensuring engineering intent translates to factory processes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to resolve drawing conflicts and producibility issues.
• Lead change control reviews, author ECNs with full factory impact analysis and BOM accuracy.
• Ensure customer-specific modifications remain within factory capability constraints.
• Own recurring quality issues and drive permanent corrective actions using 8D/A3/DFMEA.
