Job summary

Lyten, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Engineer for filaments and thermoplastics to own products from qualification through production.

You will manage contract manufacturers, define specs and acceptance criteria, and drive quality improvements while coordinating with sales and customers. The role sits at the intersection of materials science, manufacturing, and customer support, requiring hands-on melt processing experience and travel to supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Polymer Science, Polymer/Chemical Engineering, Materials Science.
• Understand polymer structure-property relationships and rheology.
• Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing (FFF/FDM).
• Hands-on melt processing extrusion/compounding in production or scale-up.
• Experience owning product specs and driving quality issues to closure.
• Familiarity with polymer characterization methods and data interpretation.
• Willingness to travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned products end to end from qualification through production and support.
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and toll processors including trials and process validation.
• Define and maintain product specifications, test methods, and acceptance criteria.
• Onboard new manufacturing partners including audits and qualification.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers.
• Lead new product introduction and handoff to sales and support.
