Job summary

Lyten is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to design and integrate production tools for a high-throughput line, advancing electrode materials production. You will optimize layouts, ensure safety, model capacity, and drive throughput targets with vendors and internal teams. This role offers growth as Lyten scales manufacturing in the U.S.

and Europe. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial equipment, material handling, and Lean approaches, and will own equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field plus 5+ years in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience designing or optimizing production line layouts and material flow.
• Hands-on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting industrial production equipment.
• Experience with powder/slurry conveyance and material handling systems.
• Knowledge of industrial safety and ergonomic design principles.
• Strong project management coordinating multi-vendor equipment installs.

Responsibilities

• Design the physical integration of production tools into a high-throughput line.

• Define quality control checkpoints to catch defects early and drive containment.
• Partner with equipment vendors on tool configuration and with EHS/Facilities on safety reviews.
• Own tool readiness through installation and ramp-up, keeping delivery on schedule.
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs once the line is running to improve reliability.
• Maintain preventive maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, and equipment health monitoring.
• Own SOPs and work instructions and update as tools evolve.

Senior Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design the physical integration of production tools into a coherent, high‑throughput line for electrode materials
• Optimize layout, material flow, and technician movement using industrial engineering principles for safety, efficiency, and throughput
• Model line capacity and OEE to size buffers, identify bottlenecks, and validate throughput targets
• Define quality control checkpoints to catch defects early and drive fast containment
• Partner with equipment vendors on tool configuration, and with EHS/Facilities on safety reviews and facility readiness
• Own tool readiness through installation and ramp‑up, keeping equipment delivery on schedule
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs once the line is running, driving continuous improvement in reliability
• Maintain preventive maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, and equipment health monitoring
• Own SOPs and work instructions, keeping them current as tools and processes evolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in industrial manufacturing environments
• Experience designing or optimizing production line layouts and material flow
• Hands‑on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting industrial production equipment
• Experience with powder/slurry conveyance and material handling systems
• Working knowledge of industrial safety and ergonomic design principles
• Strong project management skills coordinating multi‑vendor equipment installs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience standing up a new production line from install through full operation
• Familiarity with electrode, powder, slurry, or coating processes
• Experience with vendor acceptance testing and equipment commissioning
• Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
• Familiarity with battery, semiconductor, or other advanced materials manufacturing

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Compensations Range

The expected base salary range for this position is between

$128,200.00 - $192,400.00

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company‑specific knowledge.
