Job summary

Actalent in Portland, OR seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead multiple engineering and product development programs from concept to production launch. This role focuses on physical product development in a manufacturing environment, not IT.

The successful candidate will coordinate with engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams, drive testing plans, and guide projects through full development cycles with strong governance and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of project or program management experience in product development, engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or related industries.
• Experience managing the development of physical products in manufacturing, automotive, vehicle, or similar engineering environments, not software or IT implementations.
• Experience managing products through the full development lifecycle, from concept through production.
• Proven success leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time.
• Proficiency with JIRA and Microsoft Project.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery management skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across teams.
• Experience setting up project governance, operating cadences, and accountability frameworks.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple concurrent product development projects.
• Manage project schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
• Drive truck and vehicle testing plans and validation activities.
• Facilitate project reviews, status meetings, and cross-functional communication.
• Track action items and ensure accountability across stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks to keep programs on schedule.
• Use JIRA and Microsoft Project to manage project execution and reporting.
• Support product launch and transition into manufacturing.
