Job summary

Alpaca in North America is seeking a Senior Product Designer to design and build internal tools for complex financial operations. This hands-on role requires user research, systems thinking, AI prototyping, and production code contributions.

You’ll partner with product, engineering, and operations to convert intricate workflows and business rules into intuitive tools while maintaining auditability and regulatory considerations. Remote-friendly, deadlines apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product design experience, preferably in fast-paced environments.
• Experience designing for complex/technical industries such as financial services or infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret API documentation and translate into UI.
• Independent work style with the ability to drive projects with minimal supervision.
• Clear communication of design decisions across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design process from research to post-launch iteration.
• Design complex operational/workflows with multi-user roles and data sources.
• Build AI-powered prototypes for rapid stakeholder alignment.
• Turn prototypes into production experiences with front-end code contributions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to push production code.
• Contribute to scalable design patterns within the design system.
• Manage multiple initiatives and communicate progress and risks clearly.
