Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to embed within operational automation teams. You will design, build, test, deploy, and monitor automations and UIs that remove manual steps and improve efficiency and reliability across brokerage operations.

You will work with frontend and platform engineers to productize ops tooling, implement robust CI/CD, and own the full lifecycle of the systems you build, including on-call rotations and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and operating complex systems in production.
• Strong business sense and understanding of operations.
• Deep, hands-on Golang expertise with concurrency models and standard library.
• Proven ability to build user-facing features end-to-end with TypeScript/React.
• Proficient with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to reason about human workflows as systems and communicate across teams.
• Experience with observability, tracing, and continuous profiling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and monitor production automations and UIs.
• Partner with frontend engineers to productize ops tooling for global teams.
• Execute operational procedures to surface manual processes for automation.
• Instrument and report baseline and outcome metrics; iterate based on impact.
• Produce Platform Opportunity Briefs / RFCs for platform tooling and automations.
• Collaborate with BD leadership, Compliance, and Security for auditable automations.
• Own full lifecycle of built systems including CI/CD with ArgoCD and Terraform, on-call rotations, and incident response.
• Build systems with auditability and data lineage for regulatory transparency.
