Job summary

Alpaca is a US-headquartered global leader in brokerage infrastructure powering millions of trades. We seek a Senior Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable systems, lead regional recruitment initiatives, and mentor engineers while coordinating incident response in a remote, globally distributed team.

You will work on core services, gRPC microservices, and a React-based admin UI, enabling multi-language, multi-currency support and robust integrations with external vendors.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving mindset with proactive approach.
• Proficiency in Go or similar backend languages and robust architectures.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with global teams and regulators.
• Experience leading incidents as commander and troubleshooting under pressure.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design a highly scalable, mission-critical brokerage system.
• Develop and enhance middle- and back-office systems (gRPC microservices, React UI for admins, API integrations).
• Collaborate with regional teams to support multi-language, multi-currency markets.
• Lead cross-region coordination and incident response during business hours.
• Troubleshoot incidents and ensure 24x7 stability in a global context.
