Job summary

InnovateNJ is hiring a senior product design professional to lead user-centered design initiatives for civic tech projects in the United States. You will conduct in-depth user research, craft mobile and web interface concepts, and prototype solutions that align with stakeholder needs and accessibility standards.

You will also coach design practices across the organization, facilitate collaborative workshops, and partner with engineers and product managers to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in product design or UI/UX design, civic tech preferred.
• Expert proficiency with Figma including advanced prototyping and design systems.
• Deep understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to iterate and deliver solutions.
• Coach modern design practices across the organization.
• Create design concepts, prototypes, and mockups for mobile and web interfaces.
• Conduct end-to-end user research using interviews, usability testing, and behavioral metrics.
• Run collaborative workshops to communicate user needs and align internal and external teams.
