Job summary

NerdWallet is seeking a Senior Product Designer on the Engagement team to own end-to-end design for one or more pods, shaping experiences that help users make smarter financial decisions. You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to balance user needs, business outcomes, and technical possibility in an AI-native environment.

You’ll work remotely from the U.S., contribute to a design system, and shape journeys across iOS, Android, and mobile web while maintaining a high standard of craft

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional product design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product work (problem framing to shipped UI).
• Proficiency in Figma, including components and prototyping.
• Experience designing for native mobile apps (iOS/Android) and mobile web.
• Ability to use research and data to justify design decisions.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to articulate design rationale to non-design stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI-powered features or eagerness to grow in this area.

Responsibilities

• Define a design vision balancing user needs with engagement and monetization goals; partner with Product to shape roadmap priorities.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate ideation and AI-driven experiences; evolve AI-native design workflows.
• Deliver production-ready designs at pace; contribute to the design system with reusable components across platforms.
• Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, and Analysts on usability tests and validation; use data to evaluate decisions.
• Build relationships across Engineering, Product, QA, and Marketing; communicate decisions through artifacts and presentations.
