Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own core end-to-end experiences for a new digital product. The role combines hands-on design with strategy, focusing on experience, interaction design, and usability research, with AI tools integrated into both the product and design workflow.

Responsibilities include creating wireframes and prototypes, collaborating with PMs, engineers, researchers, and design engineers, conducting user research, and iterating on design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of related work experience.
• Strong portfolio with end-to-end product design including flows, interaction, and visual craft.
• Experience designing and testing prototypes with real users and translating findings into design decisions.
• Ability to work in iterative development cycles with engineering and product management.
• Clear written and verbal communication to stakeholders and leadership.
• Comfort with ambiguity and driving a loosely defined problem toward a validated design direction.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end user experiences and product workflows.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs to bring concepts to life.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Design Engineers.
• Participate in user research and usability testing activities.
• Validate design solutions through testing, feedback, and iteration.
• Translate customer and business needs into intuitive product experiences.
• Use AI tools as part of the design and prototyping process.
• Contribute to product strategy and experience direction for a new digital product.
• Support implementation and delivery by collaborating closely with engineering teams.
• Continuously improve experiences based on user insights and product learnings.
