H&R Block, Inc. is expanding its Product Design organization to build the next generation of digital experiences.

As a Lead Product Designer, you will own core product experiences for an early-stage digital product, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Design Engineers to bring ideas to life. You will shape experience strategy, conduct usability research, prototype end-to-end journeys, and use AI tools within design workflows to influence how millions of clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design with flows and visual craft.
• Experience designing and testing prototypes with real users.
• Ability to work in iterative development cycles with engineering and product management.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting work to stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and driving toward a validated design direction.

About the Role

H&R Block is investing in an AI-first future to transform how we serve our clients, and we're expanding our Product Design organization to help build the next generation of digital experiences. As a Lead Product Designer, you'll own and shape core product experiences for an early-stage digital product, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Design Engineers to bring ideas to life. You'll contribute to experience strategy, interaction design, usability research, and prototyping, with AI tools integrated into both the products we create and our day-to-day design workflow. This is a highly hands-on role where you'll design end-to-end user journeys, build and test prototypes, participate in user research, and partner with engineering teams through delivery. Your work will directly influence how millions of clients experience H&R Block's future digital products.

Day to day, you'll...

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
• 5 years minimum related work experience
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design work: flows, interaction design, and visual craft
• Experience designing and testing prototypes with real users, and translating findings into design decisions
• Ability to work in iterative development cycles with engineering and product management
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting work to stakeholders and leadership
• Comfort with ambiguity: able to take a loosely defined problem and drive toward a validated design direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing AI-powered or conversational product experiences
• Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools
• Background in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Experience contributing to or working within an enterprise design system
• Familiarity with moderated and unmoderated research methods
• Experience supporting new product initiatives from concept through launch

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$89,800.00 - $134,700.00/Yr.
