Job summary

Outside is seeking a Senior Product Designer for MapMy to shape the design vision across the MapMy portfolio. Based in Boulder, CO with remote work available in Colorado, this role partners with Product, Engineering, and Data to design, ship, and measure consumer experiences at scale.

You will lead end-to-end design for mobile (iOS/Android) and web, own the MapMy design system, drive research, mentor designers, and set visual, interaction, and motion standards aligned with accessibility

Qualifications

• 7+ years shipping consumer-facing mobile or web products with end-to-end design leadership.
• Expert in design systems, typography, color, layout, and interaction design.
• Fluent in using AI tools in a design workflow and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design across MapMy mobile and web experiences from problem framing to delivery.
• Define and evolve an AI-accelerated design practice using Claude, Cursor, and v0 daily.
• Build functional interactive prototypes to validate concepts with users and stakeholders.
• Own the MapMy design system and component library for consistency and quality.
• Drive the research agenda with interviews, usability tests, and competitive analysis.
• Mentor mid-level and junior designers and lead design reviews.
• Define design success metrics and analyze post-launch results (A/B, funnel data, feedback).
• Deliver polished design specs, redlines, and asset handoffs; use prototypes when helpful.
• Set visual, interaction, and motion standards and ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.
