Job summary

Gusto is hiring a Product Designer for our Benefits team to design and launch a new product offering. Our focus is to help small businesses and their employees access better quality care at affordable rates, making benefits work harder for small businesses.

We collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Science, CX, Operations, and Sales to turn complexity into experiences that are clear, human, and trustworthy—from end-to-end journeys to the underlying systems that power them.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product design experience.
• Experience prototyping with AI tools and workflows.
• Ability to partner with product, engineering and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead 0→1 discovery and design for a new Benefits product offering.
• Design end-to-end service experiences across employer, employee and internal workflows.
• Create AI-assisted decision moments to help customers act confidently.
• Define the data model and UX for AI-safe, scalable systems.
• Shape inputs/outputs and handoffs to reduce errors and rework.
• Build product feedback loops and measurable guidance for AI quality.
• Design in code to ship faster using AI-assisted dev tools.
