Job summary

Gusto, a leader in payroll, health benefits, and HR services, is hiring a Product Designer for HRX to shape AI-native HR experiences end to end. You will collaborate across design, product, engineering, and data to ship high-impact features that customers rely on, especially in regulated contexts.

You will contribute to service design across two-sided workflows, with emphasis on uncertain AI outputs, human overrides, and maintaining user trust in high-stakes decisions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product design experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Experience designing AI-enabled or conversational experiences shipped to real users.
• Service design for two-sided products with multiple stakeholders.
• Judgment to evaluate and direct AI outputs and know when to override.
• Comfort with ambiguity and framing problems independently.
• Strong collaboration across design, product, engineering, and data.

Responsibilities

• Shape AI-native HR experiences end to end, delivering the right outcomes for customers.
• Lead journey mapping and blueprinting of routing between customer, AI, and human HR experts.
• Make and defend judgments about AI outputs and when to ship or involve humans.
• Ground work in a real customer to maintain high craft from strategy to execution.
• Partner with PM, engineering, and data to set product direction and clarify uncertain problems.
• Work in fast cycles, shipping real features to customers and learning from results.
• Conduct and direct customer and HR expert research in compliance-sensitive domains.
