Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Purple, Rock, Scissors (PRPL) is hiring a Senior Product Designer to pair with a Senior Staff Product Designer on a renter-facing product. The role emphasizes AI-driven UX, end-to-end journeys, and production-grade design, not isolated components.
You’ll ship with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Figma MCP, tackling complex flows and delivering polished, high-craft interfaces. Expect collaboration with product leadership, engineering, and data, with travel for design sprints as needed.
Purple, Rock, Scissors is supporting a leading consumer technology company in hiring a Senior Product Designer to pair closely with a Senior Staff Product Designer on its consumer, renter-facing product. The product is deeply driven by AI and set on re-imagining how renters find a home in the US: renters share their budget and must-haves, and an AI agent finds listings, connects with leasing teams, and books tours on their behalf. This is a hands-on, deeply collaborative seat rather than a solo ownership role. You ship the way this team ships, with AI: they build with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Figma MCP every day to move from idea to working product fast, then refine and defend the output into high-craft, production-quality design. The bar is that pairing of AI-native speed with an exceptional eye for UI and visual design. This is an end-to-end product and visual design seat, not a design-systems role, and the team is focused on raising design quality: giving everyday, utilitarian flows real polish and personality. They collaborate closely with product leadership, engineering, and data, and bring high agency: they spot problems early, form a point of view, and move.
Most weeks, you’ll work on the renter-facing side of the platform: the consumer experience people use to search for, evaluate, and land an apartment, powered by an AI agent. You’ll pair closely with a Senior Staff Product Designer and partner with the Director of Product, untangling complex user flows and improving the paths renters take through the product.
You’ll ship the way the team ships: using Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Figma MCP to go from concept to working, code-backed prototypes fast, then refining them into production-quality, high-craft design rather than stopping at static mockups.
A flagship example is the search-to-tour journey: building toward an experience where a renter can go from stating what they want to touring the right apartments, with the AI handling the work in between.
The consumer team may not need you 100 percent of the time, so you may also support partner- or operations-facing surfaces. Occasional travel for a design sprint may come up.
Consumer-first, with the range to flex to B2B surfaces when the work calls for it. They value someone who keeps the real person on the other side of the screen in mind, so a user-research or human-centered sensibility is a plus.
6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion based off performance. Fully remote (US); USC work authorization required
4 to 6 years of product design experience (hard requirement), shipping B2C or consumer digital products across consumer web and mobile, including complex, high-traffic user-facing flows.
End-to-end product designer, not a design-systems specialist: you have shipped complete consumer product journeys, not isolated components or a design system, and you think across the whole experience from problem framing through a shipped flow.
You ship products with AI, and can prove it: you use Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Figma MCP day to day to move from idea to working product, and you refine, justify, and defend the output into production-quality design. Proven professional project experience here, not experimentation.
Exceptional UI and visual design sense: you bring real craft and personality to the screen, hold a high aesthetic bar, and turn everyday, utilitarian flows into polished, considered experiences. This matters as much as anything else on this list.
Mastery of Figma: components, variables, and prototyping, and you can speak specifically to how you use Figma day to day.
Complex user-flow design and optimization: comfortable untangling multi-step, high-complexity flows such as onboarding and search, and optimizing the paths users take through them.
Comfortable within a design system: you work within and extend an existing system with a real tokens discipline, but system ownership is not the job and this is not a design-systems specialist role.
Excellent communication: you pair daily with a Senior Staff Product Designer and work closely with product leadership, including a director of product, and can clearly articulate and defend your decisions.
High agency, low maintenance: you spot problems early, form a point of view, and move.
