Job description

Purple, Rock, Scissors (PRPL) is seeking an experienced, high-impact Senior UX Program Manager to serve as a core operational engine driving strategy, business rigor, and execution across a large tech client's UX Operations team.

This role sits horizontally across the UX organization, with broad visibility across strategy, programs, and operations to connect dots, support key initiatives, and drive operational change. As a versatile operational leader, you will balance complex, fast-paced UX program management initiatives across the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) alongside core UX business operations, including OPEX budget management, headcount planning, performance metrics, and vendor financial workflows. You will identify patterns and trends, build scalable yet flexible frameworks, break down cross-functional silos, and champion a "One UX" vision across the product portfolio.

This role reports directly to the Head of UX Operations and partners closely with UXD/R and Business Operations leads, acting as a right hand on critical UX initiatives and ensuring strong communication, documentation, and tracking of key milestones, goals, and metrics.

The team's operating mindset favors pragmatic problem-solving, high adaptability, and building in order to scale, transforming operational complexity into streamlined, decision-ready execution without over-engineering process, and helping teams navigate ambiguity.

Fully remote role. West-coast working hours preferred, with flexibility based on business/project needs. Contract from January 2027- December 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations & Rhythms

Manage OPEX allocation, financial tracking, variance analysis, and multi-quarter headcount (HC) modeling in tight alignment with central Finance and HR partners.

Establish, monitor, and deliver executive dashboards and high-density performance reports tracking resource utilization, operational risks, and organizational health.

Design and facilitate critical team rhythms, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), annual planning cycles, and monthly budget syncs, converting complex operational data into actionable strategic insights.

Perform continuous resource audits to ensure staff allocation maps to top priority initiatives, identifying efficiencies and dynamically rebalancing resources as product directions evolve.

Strategic Program Management

Lead end-to-end management of complex, multi-track UX initiatives spanning the full PDLC, ensuring predictable delivery and quality.

Ensure program objectives continuously align with executive priorities, product roadmaps, and central OKRs.

Proactively identify systemic, technical, or resource risks and formulate mitigation plans; implement structured change management frameworks for seamless adoption of new processes.

Architect scalable operational infrastructure, templates, and standardized workflows that reduce repetitive friction and elevate operational consistency.

Drive the complete vendor procurement lifecycle, including agency sourcing, Statement of Work (SOW) definition, contract creation, and formal approval routing.

Issue and track Purchase Orders (POs), manage invoice approvals, perform financial reconciliations, and resolve billing discrepancies alongside enterprise Procurement teams.

Oversee external agency and consultant relationships, monitoring deliverable quality, milestone compliance, and financial burn rates against contractual commitments.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Act as a strategic connector across disparate product teams, dismantling functional silos to enforce cohesive, unified user experiences across product lines.

Partner directly with senior UX directors, Product VPs, Engineering leads, and central business ops leads to align resource strategy with corporate directives.

Foster inclusive, transparent channels for team collaboration, establishing trust and driving alignment across all partner teams.

Operate with a high-collaboration, team-first mindset, fluidly pivoting to support and unblock peer UX Program Managers on adjacent programs, including launch tracking, coverage, and operational surge periods.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience in UX Program Management, Design Operations, Product Operations, or Business Operations within a large tech environment

Demonstrated hands-on expertise navigating complex internal OPEX budget management policy and tools, headcount allocation, financial modeling and reporting, and end-to-end vendor procurement (SOW and PO workflows).

Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex programs involving cross-functional stakeholders across product development organizations in scrappy, fast-paced environments; ability to influence without authority.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with strong EQ and executive presence.

Skills Required

Strong people and stakeholder management; driving change management, building relationships, and understanding strategy/big-picture thinking.

Adaptability and resilience; pivots fluidly as business priorities evolve while maintaining clarity and momentum in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Proven ability to balance strategic, big-picture thinking with deep tactical execution; a self-starter equally comfortable owning daily operational details (tracking spreadsheets, chasing approvals, troubleshooting tool bottlenecks) and designing long-term team operations.

Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders and clearly articulate complex information.

Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analysis and manual audits for data accuracy.

Excellent operational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with process improvement, automation, and data reconciliation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with product development organizations and standard productivity/collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, docs).

Solid understanding of large-tech-company methodology, processes, and tools.
