Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting contract opportunity for a Motion Designer based in either San Francisco /Bay Area or New York City to support a large tech client of ours. This is a contract role to support a VR /mixed reality hardware product effort.

This role requires someone who has an understanding of visual design principles, strong motion skills, and a thoughtful approach to the user experience in all facets of their work. The current team is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Program Managers, and Engineers, who all care deeply about the people who use their products. This team’s mission is to give people superhuman abilities by making information instantly and intuitively accessible. They are focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile immersive XR devices.

The day-to-day will be taking foundational design work and fleshing it out. The primary tools used for this engagement are Figma, Blender and After Effects. There is a mid-level of complexity in the UI/UX needs and we are looking for a mid-to-senior level Designer who can own more open-ended tasks and responsibilities.

Onsite Contract (W9) Opportunity*: through June 30, 2026 with potential to extend further. Not to exceed 40 hours per week.

*Please note that there is no holiday or time off pay with this opportunity. This is a contract, W9 engagement and it will require extensive onboarding, background/education/employment checks, and credentialing.

Responsibilities

Clearly rationalize and justify design work, and advocate for users’ needs
