Fabworx Solutions in Austin, Texas is seeking a Principal Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced semiconductor equipment. You will translate customer needs, field discoveries, and internal ideas into commercially successful products.

As a senior technical contributor, you will mentor engineers, collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership, and drive designs that are manufacturable, reliable, and differentiated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of product design and development experience.
• Strong background in semiconductor equipment and automation.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and engineering docs.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
• Experience with AI and modern digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through production release.
• Design automation equipment, end effectors, material handling solutions.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, BOMs, specs, and design docs.
• Conduct design reviews, validation activities, and product qualification.
• Ensure manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and staff through design reviews and projects.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and digital tools to enhance productivity.
