Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (or eligibility for in‑house counsel status).
8+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in‑house legal department.
Extensive experience with regulatory compliance for technology product manufacturing, distribution and sale (U.S. and abroad).
Proven ability to draft, negotiate and close complex technology‑driven transactions.

Responsibilities

Provide practical legal guidance to product and research teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead regulatory compliance efforts for manufacturing, distribution and sale of IonQ products worldwide.
Draft, negotiate and execute strategic partnerships, licensing, joint‑development, supply and manufacturing agreements.
Build and scale the product legal function, including playbooks and processes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (engineering, finance, privacy, compliance, trade, etc.) and external counsel.
Translate complex legal concepts into actionable advice for non‑lawyers.
