Job summary

Cambridge Savings Bank seeks a Product Engineer & Technical Lead to architect, design, and support strategic banking technology solutions. You will lead architectural design across digital banking, lending, account opening, and core platforms, while guiding teams in APIs, integrations, and multicloud deployments.

The role blends architecture with hands-on leadership, including prototyping, and production-ready delivery. Hybrid work in Waltham, MA with a strong focus on secure software practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required; relevant architecture, cloud, or technology certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of enterprise technology experience in banking/fintech or regulated industries delivering architecture and solution design initiatives.
• Expertise in enterprise architecture, systems integration, APIs, data architecture, cloud technologies, and secure software development.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project/Product Architecture & Design (roughly 55% of time) and produce solution designs and integration patterns.
• Evaluate vendor solutions for alignment with CSB standards, security, scalability, and regulatory expectations.
• Participate in architecture reviews, governance, and design approval processes; design and govern APIs and system integrations.
• Solution Development, Prototyping, & Delivery (approximately 20%): develop proofs of concept and production-ready applications; implement secure coding practices.
• Banking Technology Leadership (approximately 25%): provide hands-on technical direction and lead initiatives across multiple banking domains.
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, vendors, and teams to define solution roadmaps.
