Job summary

Waverley Council in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is seeking a Senior Producer to lead the planning, development and delivery of major arts and cultural programs that engage diverse audiences.

You will translate concepts into engaging experiences, work with artists and communities, and manage budgets, timelines and risks to ensure exceptional results for the community.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in arts management.
  • Experience in managing team members involved in arts and/or event management.
  • Excellent skills in building constructive relationships with arts and community stakeholders and experience working collaboratively across an organisation.
  • Great interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in creating and delivering arts and culture projects and programs that offer engaging experiences and reflect industry best practice.
  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills including experience in establishing new systems and processes.
  • Strong experience in budgeting and tracking expenditure, project and resource management, negotiation, contracting and risk management in an arts context.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of major arts and cultural programs, projects and events.

Skills & Experience

To be successful you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in arts management, programming or producing, with strong, current professional networks across the national arts sector.
  • Experience in managing team members involved in arts and/or event management.
  • Excellent skills in building constructive relationships with arts and community stakeholders and experience working collaboratively across an organisation.
  • Great interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in creating and delivering arts and culture projects and programs that offer engaging experiences and reflect industry best practice.
  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills including experience in establishing new systems and processes.
  • Strong experience in budgeting and tracking expenditure, project and resource management, negotiation, contracting and risk management in an arts context.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary space with numerous stakeholders from diverse backgrounds spanning the creative sector, community groups and government organisations.
  • Ability to lead or support cross organisational project teams to deliver agreed outcomes in a complex environment as needed.
  • High level written and verbal reasoning skills.
  • Good working knowledge of current arts and culture marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Strong production and event management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside standard office hours, including weekends.
