Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Produce Buyer to manage inventory, forecast accuracy and supplier performance across multiple distribution centers. You will collaborate with Logistics Operations, Produce Category Management, markets and suppliers to optimize the supply chain and minimize spoilage.

The role is hybrid, requiring 2 onsite days per month and candidates to reside in Lenexa, KS; Grand Island, NE; or Omaha, NE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing or related logistics experience.
• Experience in a large, fast-paced foodservice purchasing/logistics environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers on KPIs for desk goals including service level, DIOH, spoilage and freight income.
• Reviews out-of-stock reports daily to fulfill customer orders.
• Analyzes EOQ, lead times, and vendor setup to create efficient POs.
• Collaborates with cross-functional partners to manage seasonal trends and profitability.
• Maintains supplier relationships and coordinates with logistics for freight consolidation.
• Executes forward-buy opportunities to meet profitability targets.
