Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage assigned commodities, price and procure products, and maintain quality and inventory levels. The role includes coordinating with sales and procurement, handling troubled loads, and contributing to weekly pricing discussions.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of purchasing experience in retail/wholesale/distribution and a strong grasp of MS Office, communication, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• College degree preferred in a related field.
• 3–5 years purchasing experience in retail/wholesale/distribution.

Responsibilities

• Determine daily needs and maintain inventory levels.
• Order loads and build trucks for loading.
• Manage troubled loads, protections, credits, shrink.
• Participate in weekly pricing meetings.
• Procurement representative for weekly operations meetings.
• Liaise between sales staff and procurement.
