Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Produce Buyer in Lenexa, KS. You will manage inventory, forecast accuracy, and supplier relationships across multiple distribution centers, focusing on service levels and spoilage targets.

You will collaborate with Logistics Operations, Produce Category Management, and markets to optimize the supply chain. Hybrid work, onsite 2 days a month; 4+ years in purchasing and foodservice experience preferred; base pay $60,000–$100,000 with annual incentive.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing or related procurement/logistics experience.
• Experience in large, fast-paced foodservice purchasing environment preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers on desk KPIs such as service level and spoilage targets.
• Forecasts per SKU/product family and confirms PO cost accuracy.
• Manages vendor relationships and supplier performance.
• Collaborates with Logistics and Category Management to optimize the supply chain.
• Reviews inbound volume and coordinates with warehouses on receiving practices.
• Executes forward-buy opportunities to improve profitability.
