Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Buyer I for Produce to lead purchasing and ensure timely product delivery. You will manage two distribution centers, forecast needs, negotiate logistics, and maintain strong vendor relationships to drive 97% service levels. The role requires analytical skills, collaboration with retail teams, and rigorous adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Supply Chain Certificates or equivalent experience required.
• Retail operations management experience.
• 2+ years of Buying Experience.
• Marketing experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office programs.
• Track record of good judgment and ability to achieve results with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• The Buyer I is responsible for purchasing and timely delivery of products for Produce.
• Provide supply chain/inventory management for two promotionally active centers and related financial accountabilities.
• Procure product in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage two Distribution Centers inventory for specialized categories.
• Optimize store service levels at 97% or above.
• Negotiate logistics with vendors and transportation to improve cost/efficiency.
• Forecast weekly product needs and maintain relationships with brokers, vendors, and store operations.
• Handle E-Pass billing/invoice discrepancies and perform quality checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
