Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Produce Buyer to manage inventory, forecast accuracy, and supplier relationships across multiple distribution centers. The role is hybrid, with on-site presence required two days per month and candidates residing in Lenexa, KS; Grand Island, ND; or Omaha, NE.

You will own desk forecasting, optimize costs, and work with cross-functional teams to drive profitability. Strong analytical skills, vendor management, and proficiency in Office tools are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing or related work in the procurement or logistics field.
• Produce experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• PRISM and E3/AWR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers on KPIs for desk-specific goals such as service level, DIOH, spoilage and freight income.
• Reviews projected out-of-stock reports daily to ensure on-time customer order fulfillment.
• Analyzes EOQ, forecasts, lead times, vendor setup and safety stock to create efficient purchase orders.
• Collaborates with cross-functional partners to capture seasonal trends and drive profitability.
• Maintains supplier relationships and accountability with product/category management.
• Coordinates freight consolidation with logistics to maximize net income.
• Owns forecasting for the desk and ensures accurate demand data and master data settings.
