Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to perform specialized purchasing for the City, including requisitions, bid specs, solicitations, and supplier evaluation. The role requires strong knowledge of purchasing procedures and regulatory compliance.

Anticipated Start Date: On or after October 5, 2026. This position may supervise staff and involves coordination with multiple City departments and vendors to ensure best value and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• Three years of full-time purchasing, procurement, or contract administration experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.

Responsibilities

• Researches, prepares, evaluates and awards formal and informal solicitations for all City departments.
• Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors to ensure policy compliance.
• Manages complex bids and solicitations, writes bid specifications and analyzes bids for best value.
• Coordinates RFP evaluations and contract negotiations with evaluation teams.
• Trains City personnel on purchasing policies and credit card administration.
