Job summary

The HF Sinclair refinery is seeking a senior Process Safety Engineer to join the Refining Integrity Team. The role develops, implements, and monitors key Process Safety programs to ensure safe, reliable, and profitable operations in compliance with regulatory requirements and RAGAGEP.

Responsibilities include acting as SME for PSV/Flare, SOL, PHA, MII, and LOPA; leading audits; reporting metrics; and mentoring teams in evolving Process Safety initiatives while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of APC experience including step testing, modeling, commissioning, and day-to-day support.
• Knowledge of Burner Management Systems Integration.
• Familiar with APC work processes across project phases and cost-plus/lump-sum project business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Process Safety support to refinery operations and engineering teams
• Serve as LOPA Technical Authority for the refinery
• Maintain monthly Process Safety performance metrics
• Deliver training and presentations on Process Safety initiatives
• Act as SME and program owner for PSV, SOL, PHA, and MII programs
• Contribute to HF Alky API 751 Site Team and fleet communities of practice
• Participate in refinery Process Safety audits and assessments
• Support PSM action item tracking and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
