Job summary

HF Sinclair is seeking an experienced process engineer for the Engineering Department at our Artesia, NM facility. The role ranges from independent assignments to leading a team for less experienced staff, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and refinery profitability.

You will monitor complex refinery units, troubleshoot process anomalies, and drive PHA, MOC, and incident investigation activities while creating technical standards and providing mentoring to peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 3–8 years progressive engineering experience in refinery processes.
• Strong understanding of process safety and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize high-complexity refinery process units.
• Investigate and resolve process malfunctions and anomalies.
• Coordinate and document Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
• Own MOC process for assigned units and divisions.
• Provide guidance to improve safety, environmental compliance and profitability.
• Maintain integrity of unit data and technical standards.
• Mentor colleagues and provide engineering support for capital projects.
