Job summary
Eli Lilly and Company is hiring a Sr. Engineer - Process Safety for the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Carmel, Indiana with permanent relocation to Lebanon, Indiana.
The role focuses on implementing and sustaining process safety compliance, supporting PHRs, PSSRs, and day-to-day process safety questions across new chemistry and equipment changes. The position offers mentorship, collaboration with a Global HSE team, and exposure to API manufacturing chemistry, requiring a bachelor’s degree in chemical
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a Process Engineering or Process Safety Engineering role in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship provided by Lilly.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and execution of equipment and chemistry Process Hazard Reviews (PHRs).
- Drive resolution of PHR action items with owners across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Services.
- Support Operations-led Pre-Startup Safety Review execution.
- Own and maintain elements of the Foundry Process Safety Management program under the site lead.
- Provide front-line support on process safety questions during operations, troubleshooting, and startup.
