Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Advisor – Process Engineer to join the Medicine Foundry Process Engineering team in Indiana. You will provide expert-level engineering guidance across the full lifecycle of process development, scale-up, and manufacturing support for small molecule APIs, helping shape new manufacturing capabilities for a greenfield site.

You will lead design, risk assessments, and process optimization, ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements while mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or BS/MS with 10+ years in pharma/process engineering.
• Experience leading scale-up and technology transfer in GMP settings.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals and process development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for equipment design and scale-up across the small molecule node.
• Lead engineering calculations, heat/mass transfer modeling, and equipment sizing for production suites.
• Guide reactor systems selection for diverse chemistries including batch, semi-batch, and continuous flow.
• Direct rig-fit assessments and validate reactor geometries using process simulation tools.
• Lead P&ID reviews and communicate design intent across disciplines and vendors.
• Develop manufacturing processes and control strategies for drug substance APIs.
