Job summary

Lilly in Carmel, Indiana, is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join the Lilly Medicine Foundry. You will support equipment and chemistry Process Hazard Reviews, drive action resolution, and assist with Pre-Startup Safety Reviews in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

This early-career development role offers mentorship from the site PSM lead and exposure to API manufacturing chemistry and equipment, with opportunities to grow in process safety and compliance across Lilly platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a Process Engineering or Process Safety Engineering role in pharma or chemical industry.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute equipment and chemistry Process Hazard Reviews (PHRs).
• Drive resolution of PHR actions with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Services.
• Support Operations‑led Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
• Own and maintain elements of the Foundry Process Safety Management program.
• Provide frontline process safety support to engineers, scientists, operators, and maintenance.
