Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Senior Process Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end delivery of process equipment for specialty ceramics and powders.

You will manage specifications, procurement, installation, and startup while coordinating with operations, safety, and quality teams. The role requires a 5+ year track record in industrial project delivery, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and proficiency with MS Project and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of project management in industrial/manufacturing settings.
  • Experience with large-scale capital projects (>$10M).

Responsibilities

  • Lead specification, procurement, installation, and startup of process equipment.
  • Develop technical requirements for mixing, spray drying, calcining, milling, handling, dust collection, and packaging systems.
  • Manage equipment packages through lifecycle: engineering to commissioning and validation.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, and forecasts with MS Project.
  • Create and review process layouts and facility integration drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Evaluate suppliers, review proposals, and support purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, safety, engineering, construction, and suppliers.
  • Define utility requirements, P&IDs, control narratives, and facility integration for new systems.
  • Lead commissioning, startup, testing, training, and production readiness.
  • Troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.

Senior Process Project Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*
  • Your primary responsibility will be leading the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of process equipment used for specialty ceramic and powder manufacturing
  • You have experience developing technical requirements and equipment specifications for solution mixing, spray drying, calcining, milling, blending, screening, material handling, dust collection, and packaging systems
  • You will manage assigned equipment packages through the complete project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and performance validation
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and project forecasts using Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with budget, scope, and key project milestones
  • Further you will create and review process layouts, equipment arrangements, and facility integration drawings using AutoCAD and other engineering design tools
  • Additionally, you will evaluate equipment suppliers, review technical proposals, conduct bid evaluations, and support equipment selection and purchasing decisions
  • You enjoy collaborating with operations, maintenance, quality, safety, engineering, construction, and equipment suppliers to ensure successful project execution
  • Define utility requirements, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and facility integration requirements for new manufacturing systems
  • You have a proven track record of leading successful equipment commissioning, startup activities, performance testing, operator training, and production readiness efforts
  • You will troubleshoot process and equipment issues while identifying continuous improvement opportunities that enhance process capability, operational performance, reliability, and safety
What makes you great
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or a related discipline required
  • Proven project management experience, with 5+ years delivering projects in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated success with large‑scale capital projects, including projects with budgets of $10M or greater
  • Strong financial and scheduling acumen, capable of developing estimates, managing budgets, and maintaining baseline schedules
  • Highly effective communicator and collaborator, able to align diverse stakeholders and lead teams toward shared objectives
  • Proficiency with project and engineering tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD
  • Professional credentials preferred, including PMP certification, Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Lean or Six Sigma experience, or advanced degrees (MS, MBA, PhD)
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally to support project execution
