Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Night Shift Manufacturing Quality Technician to collaborate with Quality and Engineering to reduce COPQ, improve first pass yield, and resolve tooling quality issues.

The role supports documentation for new applications, performs RCA/RCM investigations, and participates in TPM and Lean Six Sigma improvement projects. Extended hours may be required, and PPE is used in a production environment.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or greater required; or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proven ability to translate theory into hands-on practice.
  • Effective project management skills; able to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with Quality / Engineering / Operations and meet deadlines.
  • Extended hours and/or weekends/holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to reduce COPQ and improve first pass yield.
  • Support creation of documentation for new applications (instructions, routers, SOPs).
  • Lead RCA/RCM investigations and implement action items.
  • Support TPM to increase machine utilization and analyze process data.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Assist with tooling/fixturing design for new product introduction and process improvements.
  • Contribute to FAI and SPS data for new product introduction and process changes.

Indianapolis, IN, United States | req33008 Night shift, 11:00pm – 07:30am, Monday - Friday, training will be conducted on day shift

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will work with Quality and Engineering organizations to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and achieve acceptable first pass yield & collaborate with Engineering to resolve tooling related quality issues
  • You will support the creation of documentation necessary for new applications, including job instructions, job routers, job safety analyses, standard operating procedures, etc
  • You will analyze the reasons for equipment failure and leads Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts & participate in reliability related incident investigations, prioritizing action items, and follow-up on their implementation
  • You will support Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) efforts to increase machine utilization, as defined by facility targets & analyze process data and lead improvement projects
  • Further, you will work as an integral team member on productivity projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices & support the design and modify tooling / fixturing for new product introduction and improvement of existing processes
  • Also, you will support the completion of First Article Inspection (FAI) and SPS data for new product introduction and improvement of existing processes & support design reviews with safety and ergonomics focus on plant systems and production equipment changes

  • Proven ability to combine theoretical training with practical experience in a "hands-on" environment required
  • You must have effective project management skills with the ability to complete multiple projects independently
  • Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred
  • You must be able to work closely with Quality / Engineering / Operations on assigned tasks and be reliable to achieve assigned duties in a timely manner
  • Working extended hours and/or weekends and holidays may be required
  • You will have the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while processing, masking, demasking, loading, unloading, inspecting, and packaging customer hardware and materials
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • You will work in a production environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, vibration, heat, cold, and industrial chemicals while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to visually inspect parts, materials, and process conditions to identify defects, damage, contamination, or other nonconforming conditions
  • Ability to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, protective clothing, and other PPE as required by the task or work area
