Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Carlin Process operations to manage project life cycles from scoping to commissioning. The role supports planning, design, construction, and startup activities, with emphasis on safety and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will contribute to cost forecasting, design input for consultants, and coordination across operations, environmental, safety, and stakeholders to meet schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Reliability, or Electrical Engineering or related field (or experience) preferred.
• Project Management knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge in mineral processing operations and construction preferred.
• Experience with managing contractor and contract management preferred.
• Competence in MS Office required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of small and medium-sized projects: planning, justification, design, approval, construction, commissioning.
• Assist in scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility to execution, including construction and commissioning.
• Forecast project costs.
• Provide design input to engineering consultants.
• Coordinate efforts within Nevada Gold Mines during planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
