Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Senior Business Process Engineer to lead end-to-end process redesign for Corporate Trust and Agency Services. The role focuses on improving efficiency, strengthening risk controls, and enhancing client experience using BPMN and Visio.

The ideal candidate has deep BPMN expertise, strong process-mapping skills, and experience in Lean/Six Sigma. Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in financial services are required, with Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 7 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including 7 years’ relevant work experience.
• Ability to document processes accurately, in detail, and using BPMN 2.0
• 5 years Financial Services Experience
• Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certified or Agile certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deconstruct problems using data as a guide
• Experience handling multiple tasks under time constraints
• Strong design and systems thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance standards.
• Interview process SMEs, process owners, and Division managers to identify and understand their processes.
• Assess risks, gaps, and control weaknesses; escalate risk-related issues to management.
• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Document information using analytical tools and techniques including spreadsheets and process maps; leverage Microsoft Visio and BPMN.
• Document and map current state business processes and facilitate the design of an improved future state.
• Ensure process documentation is built with consistent templates and fits into the broader process architecture.
