Job summary

Plug Power in Slingerlands, NY, seeks a Manager, Process Engineering to lead system architecture development, operation, and continuous improvement of hydrogen infrastructure. The role requires deep expertise in process design, hazard analysis, and lifecycle management, with responsibility for mentoring staff and coordinating global teams.

The successful candidate will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and drive performance, cost, and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of relevant system or process engineering experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Process development experience including generating/leading P&IDs, PFDs, material and energy balances, process simulations, and risk assessments
• Experience working with process equipment vendors and fabricators

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of Plug Power product designs and standards
• Own quality and documentation of engineering work products (P&IDs, controls, HAZOPs, FAT, O&M manuals)
• Hire and develop a direct team while guiding communication and accountability
• Lead cross-functional project execution from requirements through verification to meet Quality, Cost and Performance
• Develop work processes and align resources across departments and geographies
• Maintain metrics for product performance, cost, and code compliance
• Anticipate design/schedule risks and rearrange priorities to meet deadlines
• Communicate across departments to keep all parties informed
• Collaborate across teams to maximize system performance and customer satisfaction
• Provide updates to senior leadership on progress and issues
• Review operational data and drawings for complex troubleshooting with manufacturing or field service
• Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions
• Perform other duties as assigned
